There’s a version of a couples’ outing in Lucknow that most people know by heart. We designed Overflow to feel like somewhere you’d want to stay, not just somewhere you’d want to photograph. Macaroni in a bechamel base with truffle oil, baked under a parmesan gremolata crust — it’s richer and more considered than the name suggests. The Shawarma Bowl, chicken or paneer, comes with garlic toum, hummus, pickled onions and a summer salad with mini pita breads. It’s a full meal that doesn’t make you feel heavy.
For the end of the evening, the Berry Cheesecake baked on a buttery biscuit base with a berry compote is exactly the right size to split. The Lemon Tart, a zesty curd in a vanilla sable with torched meringue, is for whoever at the table is particular about dessert. Both of them are the kind of thing you finish and then sit with for a while, which is the point.
We have full vegetarian and non-vegetarian options across the menu. That matters more than it sounds for a couples’ outing where both people don’t always eat the same way.

The pour-over is a good order for this, it takes a few minutes, the barista explains the process if you ask, and suddenly you have something to talk about that isn’t about each other. The pistachio latte uses real pistachio praline, not a syrup, and that detail alone tends to start a conversation. Order light, stay as long as you need to. No one will rush you.
For a casual evening, the kind where you don’t have a plan and don’t need one, order the iced lattes and the Fried Chicken and Waffles with chilli maple butter and red cabbage slaw. The Breakfast Burrito if you’re both hungry and indecisive. The music is background, the pace is unhurried, and two hours will go past without either of you noticing.
For an anniversary or a deliberate evening, come after 7pm. The lighting earns it. Do the full spread, something to share at the start, proper mains, a dessert. Parking is easy. May sound like a small thing until you’ve circled a block three times before a date. You can park in the lot on the side of the cafe which almost always has space available.
We’re open daily from 8am to 10pm. Reservations are available through EazyDiner and Zomato / District which is worth doing on weekends when the room fills up by 8pm.
The crowd here tends to be working professionals, coffee people, regulars who come for the pour-over and stay for the food. The energy is calm without being empty. That’s the environment I wanted to build, and it’s what makes the space work for two people who actually want to talk.
